Description

If you are a mountaineer who is discovering the peaks of the Giants of the Alps, but you don’t want to undertake technically difficult climbs, this is definitely the summit for you! We will take the Indren cable car and we will start on a roped team across the suggestive Monte Rosa glaciers. Surrounded by the 4000 meters of the Massif, such as Pyramide Vincet, Lyshamm, Naso del Lyskamm, Balmenhorn, Corno Nero and several others, you will reach the Punta Giordani summit, from where you will have one of the most stunning views of the area.

Prerequisites

Climb Punta Giordani and Pyramide Vincent summits by the Soldier Ridge “Cresta del Soldato” is of intermediate technical difficult. It is highly recommended to be in good physical shape and good acclimatization. To guarantee the ascent we require the ability to face excursions of at least 1200m with ease, so as not to have problems on the day of the ascent. The high altitude can affect the performance of the climbers, having some experience at altitude or good acclimatization will make the ascent easier.

Itinerary

Our day begins in Staffal, where we’ll rendezvous with our guide at approximately 7:00 a.m.. First on the agenda: an equipment check to ensure we’re well-prepared for the ascent. We’ll board the cable car, ascending to Punta Indren. The ride offers glimpses of the surrounding peaks, building anticipation for our climb. Exiting the cable car station, we’ll set off in the direction of the old station and the Bors Glacier. As we traverse this glacier, we’ll reach the base of the climb. Here, we’ll typically remove our crampons. We’ll tackle the first part of the ridge, ascending toward P.ta Giordani. Along the way, we’ll seek out the most interesting steps the ridge has to offer. On top of Giordani, we’ll take a well-deserved and leisurely rest. The Alpine panorama stretches before us, inviting reflection. After our rest, we’ll continue along the second part of the climb, aiming for the summit of Piramide Vincent. For our descent, we’ll follow the regular route along the Lys Glacier, retracing our steps back to the valley.
